Weekly Leader Blog of the Week – Tom Peters Dispensing Outrageous Common Sense

tom-peters-logo-thumbThe Weekly Leader Blog of the Week is the granddaddy of all leadership blogs and home of one of the original leadership gurus, Tom Peters.

It’s actually more than your average run of the mill blog, it’s an Internet destination for all kinds of valuable personal and professional leadership information.

WL-Blog-of-the-Week-Badge It all started back in 1982 with the publication of Peters and Robert  Waterman’s classic, In Search of Excellence: Lessons from America’s Best-Run Companies . The management ideas first put forth in that book and now via Tom Peters blog are often simple to understand but more difficult to consistently execute. Whether it be “MBWA“( management by wandering around), Cool Friends, 100 Ways to Succeed or Tom’s Slides, Peters is a master at dispensing “outrageous common sense” to people committed to enhancing their leadership skills.

Recently (October 2008) Tom Peters participated in an American Express Open Forum event Inside the Entrepreneurial Mind – New Perspectives on Business with uber-marketer and Tribes: We Need You To Lead Us author Seth Godin. Unfortunately, the videos cannot be embedded; however, you can view them here. There is a lot of very good stuff here and in particular, check out “Let’s hear It for the blog” where Peters tells us what blogging has meant to him and his business and “The importance of decency” which is an example of Peters dispensing “outrageous common sense.”
