Twitter #Leadership #FollowFriday Project (@EaglesFlite @Post_Lead @BillGates)

Week 4 of the @WeeklyLeader Twitter Leadership Follow Friday Project offers a prolific leadership connector,  an example of old media effectively using new media and Bill Gates.

Dale Lawrence aka @eaglesfliteI have been following Dale Lawrence (@eaglesflite) for as long as I can remember. His Twitter profile has his interests listed as “coaching, consulting, Ret. USAF, organization psych., leadership, teams, personal development, spirituality, health & wellness.”  His updates are often links to very interesting leadership articles from a wide range of locations around the web. He’s also a generous re-Tweeter and active Follow Friday participant. He joined Twitter on July 9, 2008, has updated over 8,000 times and follows and is followed by approximately 14,000 people. If you are looking for someone who provides regular, valuable leadership content, jump out of the nest with @eaglesflite!

Washington Post On LeadershipI am a big fan of the On Leadership section of the Washington Post’s website. I think they offer a great example of how an old media property can use it’s tremendous assets and networks and talented journalists online.  It’s great to see several of my friends and Weekly Leader podcast guests including Ed O’Malley (@EOMalley), CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center (episodes 22 and 23),  Seth Goldman, Co-Founder and TEO of Honest Tea (episode 4)  and Marty Linsky, (@martylinsky) Harvard Kennedy School professor and Co-Founder of Cambridge Leadership Associates (episodes 14 and 15 )  contributing valuable content as members of the Post’s amazing On Leadership panel.  So, I was excited back in December 2009 when @Post_Lead joined Twitter and haven’t been disappointed since. They’ve updated 347 times and are following and are followed by nearly 500. This is definitely one of the most overlooked, underfollowed leadership resources on Twitter.  If you want a rich resource and diverse leadership experiences and perspectives, follow @Post_Lead!

Bill Gates on Twitter @BillGatesDo you really need me to tell you why you should follow Bill Gates’ verified Twitter account (@Bill Gates)? Didn’t think so.  Bill Gates joined Twitter on June 24, 2009, is followed by over 450,000 and follows 44. He’s updated only 56 times; however, he’s been more active recently.

Do you have any favorite Leadership Tweeter? Leave us a comment and if you’d like to guest host the column some Friday, let me know.
